Flashback: Phish Say “Thank You” at Dick’s

Rob Slater on June 21, 2016

While Phish has played a New Year’s run and subsequent Mexico getaway in the time since their 2015 Summer Tour closer, the final notes of that Dick’s Sporting Goods Park run still ring as some of their most powerful of the calendar year as the band took a moment to thank their fans at the conclusion of the tour.

In what turned out to be a literal “THANK YOU” encore, the band kicked into “Tweezer Reprise” for what felt like the final tune of the night. From there, one of the best encores in the band’s history as they begun a “Harpua” for the ages that would include lengthy narrations from Trey Anastasio as well as takes on “After Midnight,” a spacey “NO2” that transitioned into a “Keyboard Army” jam as well as the Chilling Thrilling cut “Your Pet Cat.” To close it out, Phish revived their version of Talking Heads’ “Once in a Lifetime” before a debut of “United We Stand.”

As Phish tour gets ready to begin tomorrow, relive the THANK YOU encore below.
