Video Premiere: The Heavy Hours “Desperate Days”

The Heavy Hours have taken their rallying cry of their track “Desperate Days” and set it to a new music video, showcasing the Ohio quartet in the empty, all-too-familiar streets of small town America.

The video falls on the heels of two previous singles recorded by the Cincinnati-based group, whose members have been friendly since high school and have quickly gained renown for their literate, engaging songwriting. The first of these, “Don’t Walk Away, ” was written with The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach who invited the group to visit him and collaborate at Easy Eye Sound  in Nashville.

“Desperate Days,” was recorded in New York’s Catskill Mountains under the guidance of Simone Felice (The Lumineers, Jade Bird) as well as producer/mixer David Baron. The band tells Relix, “We find our lives wound up in this song as it speaks to tough times, which there has been no shortage of this year, or really ever. But even more than that, this song speaks to how unbreakable bonds, memories, and the more enduring things in life can carry us through to calmer waters.”
