The String Cheese Incident’s Kyle Hollingsworth typically celebrates his birthday in grand style with a live event. This year is no different, even though COVID restrictions will limit in-person attendance. The Kyle Hollingsworth band will perform two socially distanced shows at the Boulder Theater, this Sunday, March 7 (after the first show sold out almost immediately, a second was added). Both performances will stream on Nugs.net (and Kyle cat T-shirt enthusiasts should note that the shirts that are typically only sold at his gigs, are now available for online pre-order, with a birthday theme).

In celebration of all this, Kyle has recorded a version of Bob Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues” which are we premiering below. Hollingsworth tells Relix, “I grew up listening to Bob Dylan and I had fun reinterpreting this song. I hope it’s not sacrilege to treat it in this fashion, but I love all the imagery in the lyrics. And it is a mouthful to try to get them all out and keep in time! I might have to break it out for my socially-distanced birthday shows here in Boulder on Sunday. Tune in on Nugs.net if you get a chance!”
