Real Estate bassist Alex Bleeker is gearing up to release his solo record, Heaven on the Faultline, set to drop March 5, 2021 on Night Bloom Records. Ahead of the release, we are premiering his new single and video “Mashed Potatoes.”

The video, directed by Leanne Kriz, features Bleeker dancing to the new track in front of a plain white wall. The intimacy and minimalism of the footage couples nicely with the music; both exude an inviting, comforting quality.

“This song is about eradicating toxicity from your life and concentrating on whatever it is that brings you joy,” Bleeker told Relix. “Cups of coffee, mashed potatoes, juice… sometimes things really are that simple.”

“Mashed Potatoes” followed a previous single (and video) titled “D Plus;” watch that here. Meanwhile, Heaven on the Faultline marks Bleeker’s first full-length, non-Real Estate record since 2015’s Country Agenda, which was released with his Alex Bleeker and the Freaks project. Real Estate shared their most recent LP, The Main Thing, in late February of 2020.
