On July 27, Sammy Hagar took his The Best of All Worlds Tour to PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J. During the 21-song, single-set display, the band leader revisited his past, covering Van Halen material while reprising solo work and Wabos-era picks. Notably, Hagar served as the lead vocalist for Van Halen after David Lee Roth stepped back from the position in 1985. Before leaving the role, Hagar had a decade’s worth of experience fronting the hard rock ensemble to inform Saturday’s stand.

A nod to the past, Hagar started his stage time with a trio of Van Halen pulls, beginning with “Good Enough.” The trend continued with an ensuing “Poundcake” and “Runaround.” Next, Hagar worked on material from his Standing Hampton LP, pulling from the album later in the show with the addition of “Heavy Metal.” Also included during the night were fan favorites, “Jump,” “Panama,” and “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘bout Love.”

On location was photographer Marc Millman, who shared select photos from the concert. Scroll down to view.
