Over the weekend, Mumford & Sons resumed their touring efforts in support of 2025’s Rushmere, with two performances at Forest Hills Stadium on August 8 and 9. The concerts arrived after the band’s four-stop Railroad Revival Tour, co-opting Woody Guthrie’s nomadic spirit and taking to the rails with a Rolodex of talent and special guests that reappeared during their first night in Queens. N.Y.
In line with their excursion on the tracks, Mumford & Sons brought out select participants in the Railroad Revival Tour to accompany them during their second set delivery. Openers Lucius helped cover Taylor Swift’s “cowboy like me,” and stuck around to assist their hosts on “Caroline,” with added aid from Leif Vollebek, Ketch Secor, and Nathaniel Ratliff, fresh off their Railroad Revival experience.
The lineup, which nearly mimicked their Railroad Revival roster, provided renditions of Secor’s Old Crow Medicine Show staple, “Wagon Wheel,” Ratliff & The Night Sweats’ “S.O.B.,” in addition to “Awaken My Soul.” The following evening saw a similar pick-up of material, a tried and true Mumford experience, before added help arrived during the latter half, this time just Lucius.
On location was photographer Bill Kelly, who shared his shots. View below.
