In September 2018 Edie Brickell & New Bohemians released Rocket, their first studio album in 12 years. At that time Brickell told Relix, “We never stopped playing together. I just couldn’t commit to touring with them because I was raising my kids and they were musicians who need to work.” The group toured in support of Rocket, including a round of festival gigs, that included notable appearances LOCKN’ and Outside Lands.

The band has continued to collaborate in the studio as well, with a new record, Hunter and the Dog Star set for release in February.  Today we premiere the video for “My Power,” the first single from the album.

Brickell tells Relix, ““Kenny [Withrow] started playing this great guitar part in the recording studio and the first thing I sang was not to his liking, so I got kinda mad at him. And then I thought, ‘Oh, Edie, be a team player and try singing it in the space Kenny hears it.’ So when I climbed over stubborn MY WAY mountain, I started singing this song, and it all flowed out like magic and found us all enjoying it and laughing again. Relinquishing power gave me ‘My Power.’  The wonderful and super-talented, Micah and Alex Nelson, made this powerfully fun video for us.”
