We’ve described Tinsley Ellis as “a master blues/rock guitarist” and his forthcoming album, Ice Cream in Hell, affirms why he has earned this designation. Alligator Records will release Ice Cream in Hell on January 31. Ellis recorded the 11 originals in Nashville, producing the record alongside  his longtime co-producer Kevin McKendree (John Hiatt, Delbert McClinton).

Today we premiere the lead track from Ice Cream In Hell. Ellis tells Relix, “We chose the mid-tempo ‘Last One To Know’ to open the new album. It’s got that STAX records vibe that I love so much. Southern Soul influenced music has truly stood the test of time.  I’m not a guy that uses horns much on albums, but this song screamed for them.”
