Watch Foo Fighters Welcome Krist Novoselic for a Nirvana Mini-Reunion in Seattle

This past Saturday, Foo Fighters brought their tour in Seattle’s Safeco Field, and frontman Dave Grohl and company welcomed his former Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic to the stage for a mini-reunion and a cover of “Molly’s Lips” by Scottish outfit The Vaselines.

“You haven’t aged a day!” Grohl exclaimed as Novoselic (who opened the night with his own band Giants in the Trees) approached him for an embrace. “This is an old song. We haven’t done this song together in a long time.” The two former Nirvana members—along with current Foo Fighters guitarist and former touring Nirvana member Pat Smear—then launched into the Vaselines tune, once a frequent cover for Nirvana, who recorded the song and included it in their 1992 compilation album Incesticide.

Grohl, Novoselic and Smear also teamed up at a Foos show this past winter, when the bassist joined the group for “Big Me.”
