The Allman Brothers Band will play its 200th show at the Beacon Theatre on Saturday, March 26. To commemorate the band’s 200th show at the Beacon, MSG Entertainment will be present The Allman Brothers Band with the keys to the legendary venue.

The Allman Brothers Band’s first performance at the Beacon was in 1989. The band returned in 1992 and 1994 before moving its New York City residency to Radio City Music Hall in 1995. The group held court at the Beacon from 1996-2007 and again in 2009 (the group took 2008 off due to Gregg Allman’s health concerns).

“The first time we played The Beacon in 1989, we never imagined that more than 20 years later we’d still be playing the same theater and reaching our 200th show,” Gregg Allman said in a statement. “I don’t know whether the fans feed off of us or we feed off the fans, but something incredible happens when we come together with our fans at The Beacon. There’s a vibe, an energy in the room that only happens here. Some of our greatest moments have occurred on The Beacon stage and we look forward to creating many more in the years to come.”

The group’s Beacon run continues tonight.
