Bleachers are currently on the road in support of their fifth full-length album, Everyone for Ten Minutes. Over the weekend, the group’s Bleachers Forever tour rolled into Chicago for shows at The Salt Shed and, on Sunday, Chris Thile made a surprise appearance with the Jack Antonoff-led outfit. The Nickel Creek/Punch Brothers mandolinist–who is based in the New York area but was in the Windy City for a performance with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra the following day–emerged to join Bleachers for “Margaret,” a song Antonoff wrote and recorded with Lana Del Rey for her 2023 album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd that references his now wife, the actress Margaret Qualley. He then remained on stage for the Bleachers original “Isimo,” from the 2023 self-titled Bleachers album, and the non-album single “Merry Christmas, Please Don’t Call.”
This evening, Bleachers will perform at Montreal’s MTELUS while Thile will play a solo show at the Virginia Arts Festival in Norfolk, VA Friday.
