Jaimoe to Perform with Friends of the Brothers at City Winery in New York City

The sole surviving member of the classic Allman Brothers Band lineup has extended his participation in a new live appearance. The Peach State band’s founding member and pioneering backbeat [with fellow accomplice Butch Trucks], Jaimoe, has signed on to rejoin the Friends of the Brothers lineup on two different dates this summer.

According to the latest dispatch, Jaimoe will perform with the Friends of the Brothers lineup on Monday, July 20, on the Main Stage at City Winery in New York City. The newly announced concert will follow Jaimoe’s commitment to another gig with the group, slated for this coming Saturday, June 13, at the Warehouse at FTC in Fairfield, Conn.

In the event descriptor, the expert participant is classified as “Jaimoe, now 81, was the first member Duane Allman asked to be in his new band in 1969. Together, they put together the rest of the group. Prior to that, the drummer born Jonie Lee Johnson performed with Otis Redding, Percy Sledge, Joe Tex and other soul greats.”

Tickets for the Friends of the Brothers concert on Saturday, June 13, remain on sale.
