Blues Traveler have unveiled the artist lineup for the band’s annual July 4 show at the storied Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo. This Independence Day, the blues-rock revival innovators will be joined by Jacksonville’s swamp-rock torchbearers JJ Grey & Mofro and rising indie jam band Eggy for a genre-bending salute to America and its music.

This year’s event continues Blues Traveler’s longstanding tradition at Red Rocks. Excepting impossible circumstances in 1999 and 2020, the band has played Red Rocks on July 4 annually since 1994. After opening for The Allman Brothers Band in 1992, the group returned to the amphitheatre with its traveling music festival H.O.R.D.E. in 1994, establishing a relationship that has maintained for 28 headline engagements over three decades. Over the years, Blues Traveler’s Red Rocks show has become an annual pilgrimage for its fans, drawing an audience from across the country in a celebration of the band and its history. In 2023, the group called on Railroad Earth and North Mississippi Allstars for support; in years prior, it has hosted iconic acts like Cory Wong, Leftover Salmon, The Wailers, Violent Femmes, moe. and many more.

In October, Blues Traveler released the covers album Traveler’s Soul, which includes treatments of Stevie Wonder, The Meters and Dr. John, to widespread acclaim. Before its hotly anticipated Red Rocks takeover, the band will play seven shows in the Southwest and California, beginning with Mesa Amphitheatre in Mesa, Ariz. on February 17.
