Pulling from the original German Nosferatu and Bela Lugosi’s 1932 film White Zombie, The Empty Hearts have premiered their new music video for “Jonathan Harker’s Journal” just in time for the Halloween season.

The band features Elliot Easton of The Cars and Clem Burke of Blondie, both of whom are excited to offer a spooky-themed limited-edition 7″ vinyl on Little Steven’s Wicked Cool Records.

“The whole band are huge fans of classic horror movies, so [our bassist] Andy’s idea to explore the subject seemed like a really fun thing to do,” explains Easton of the creepy music video. “Here we are in October, with Halloween just around the corner, so this one’s a spooky natural!”

The Empty Hearts – Collective list of their 7 favorite horror films:
Dracula (1931, the original) –  Dracula, Bela Lugosi, what’s better?!

House of Dracula
(1945) – The Wolfman, Frankenstein and Dracula all in one 1945 Universal classic!

Twins of Evil (1971) – Peter Cushing and two female vampires.  You can’t go wrong.

The Wolf Man (1941)  – Always good to watch during a full moon.

Bride of Frankenstein (1935)  Boris Karloff is the best Frankenstein.  Plus he smokes and drinks in the film!

Nosferatu (1922, silent version)  Cool, creepy German Expressionist horror film.  No sound needed.

The Pit and the Pendulum (1961) – Combine director Roger Corman with Edgar Allan Poe’s demented story starring Vincent Price, and you have a classic.
