Earlier this year, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe released their first new studio album in five years. Gnomes & Badgers effectively captures the band’s vital essence through a series of politically-charged songs. Later this week, KDTU will take to the road for a series of gigs that will carry the band into 2020. To mark the occasion we are premiering the playful video for “Something Sweet” from the latest record.

Denson tells Relix, “I wrote this song after hearing David Veith play the Clavinet riff during soundcheck at One Eyed Jacks in New Orleans a couple of Jazz Fests ago. I immediately heard the melody to go along with the riff. The whole thing was written in five minutes. When it came time for the video, we turned to our drummer Zak Najor. He always has great ideas for videos. I decided he was a natural director, so he’s now taken on the mantle. This is technically his first video, but he’s already working on a KDTU documentary.”

The group’s upcoming dates appear below the video. Gnomes & Badgers is available from a variety of outlets.
