Brooklyn-based quartet Looms will release their third full-length on May 3. The group, which bridges rock, jazz, folk and electronic realms will draw on all these sounds for The Way Up. Today we premiere “Eclipse” from the forthcoming record, which features a guest turn by celebrated guitarist Nels Cline. Multi-instrumentalist Sharif Mekawy, the band’s principal songwriter, says of the track, “I came home from a 2017 summer tour to a breakup and confined myself to a month of writing music on my roof. One day, there was an eclipse, and I forced myself to stay on that roof until I had a finished song.”

The quartet, which also features Harry Morris Jr. (guitar), Andy Murray (bass) and Louis Cozza (drums) will be active over the coming weeks both at SXSW and in the Northeast, with upcoming tour dates listed below the stream. The Way Up is now available for pre-order.
