Ween Cancel Remaining 40th Anniversary Tour Dates

Ween have canceled its remaining 40th-anniversary tour. An official post was cast across social media last night delineating the change in plans. While no official reasoning behind the decision was provided, shows slated to occur in Seattle, Portland, Ore., and Eugene, Ore. have been dropped from the band’s schedule.

The official statement read, “We regret to announce that we will have to cancel our shows this week in Seattle, Portland and Eugene. We love performing for the best fans in the world, and we are beyond disappointed we won’t be able to do these shows. All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.”

The move came days after Ween performed their 1999 track “Makin’ Love in the Gravy” for the first time in a live setting. The pull occurred during their concert on August 3 at KettleHouse Amphitheater in Bonner, Mont. The Craters of the Sac originator sparked particular setlist excitement going into the band’s continued Pacific Northwest run, particularly after their follow-up in Spokane, Wash., which filtered through various tour-specific debuts.

This is the second cancellation to come from Ween in 2024, following April’s withdrawal from the road. The spring note, which was signed by “Deaners,” began, “For the majority of my life I have been blessed enough to have a career doing the thing that I love the most. This privilege has never been lost on me. The fact that the music reaches other people and means so much to them is something that I never take for granted, and for which I am truly grateful, all of the time, every time we perform. At this moment in time though I need to step away from performing live in order to preserve my mental and spiritual well-being, and instead focus on myself and loved ones.”

I know this will come as a disappointment and with great inconvenience to many people who bought tickets and made travel plans, and for this I sincerely apologize. I look forward to returning to the stage with the enthusiasm, joy, and renewed sense of inspiration that our fans deserve, and that I require of myself when we play live. Thank you and god bless.”

At this time, no reason for the cancellation of the 40th anniversary tour has been given. Scroll down to view the group’s latest announcement via Instagram.
