Video Premiere: Dopapod “FABA,” Live at The Capitol Theatre

After a year-plus hiatus, Dopapod returned to the stage on April 27, 2019 in style, with their first headlining appearance at the historic Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY.

Today, we’re premiering the first pro-shot video from that memorable night, a second set, 17-plus minute “FABA,” which saw the band flying high, through synthy bliss and and hard rock crescendos.

“The intro in ‘FABA’ is always a fun improvisation moment/gamble,” keyboardist Eli Winderman told Relix. “We try to make it sound like a composed classical excerpt, sometimes it works and sometimes not so much. The version from The Cap seemed to come together nicely which led perfectly into [drummer] Fro and [bassist] Chuck holding off for a while to build some anticipation. Luke’s lighting work on this version is probably some of his most creative lighting I’ve ever seen. If only we had learned the Tetris theme in advance… oh well maybe next time!”

And while Dopapod’s post-hiatus touring schedule has been somewhat limited, the band was recently added to Pennsylvania’s Resonance Festival and look forward to a small batch of of Denver dates in October.
