Back in July, when the sun bleached the grass that crinkled beneath naked feet, Tyler Childers unveiled his seventh studio album, a meticulous blend of experimental rock, gospel, psychedelia, and homebred Appalachian storytelling. After receiving critical acclaim and fan-loved status, Childers has shared his intent to support the 13-track record on the road, beginning on April 23 at Dallas’ Dos Equis Pavilion.

On tour, Childers will welcome support from special guests at select stops, including Jon Batiste, Wednesday, Evan Honer, and Scott T. Smith. Night one and Childers’ next performance on June 4 at the Coca-Cola Amphitheater in Birmingham, Ala., will feature Smith filling the special guest slot. After turning in the previously mentioned live performance, Childers will take part in a July 7 slot at the Railbird Festival in Lexington, Ky.

The schedule will guide the group of hill singers to the Darien Lake Amphitheatre, northeast of Buffalo, N.Y., on June 10, followed by an evening at the Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pa., on June 11. On June 13, Childers will take part in the Buckeye Country Superfest, before hanging up his hat till July 9, when the tour resumes in St. Louis.

A spurt of July dates ensues, resulting in nights spent on stage in Chicago, Kansas City, Des Moines, and Boulder, Colo., before one final tour leg. The final leg of the tour dates will take Childers to Sacramento on Sept. 30 and Seattle on Oct. 2. The following evening, Oct. 3, marks the last night on stage during this jaunt, occurring at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore.

The impending tour picks up after a grand year for Childers, who received four pieces of recognition from the Recording Academy for his latest album, including Best Contemporary Country Album (Snipe Hunter), Best Country Song (“Bitin’ List”), Best Country Solo Performance (“Nose on the Grindstone”) and Best Country Duo/Group Performance (“Love Me Like You Used To Do” with Margo Price).

General ticket on-sale will follow on Friday, December 12 at 11 a.m. local time. Full details are available at www.tylerchildersmusic.com.
