Director Sam Mendes has revealed details about the forthcoming Beatles biopics, including the casting for the Fab Four and its expected release date.
Mendes spoke about the impending films during an appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Monday, March 31. He disclosed that all four biopics will arrive in April 2028 before introducing the cast: Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr.
Reportedly, Mendes intends to deliver four solo films that present each of the band members’ iconic stories. “We’re not just making one film about the Beatles — we’re making four,” Mendes said. “Perhaps this is a chance to understand them a little more deeply,” the director said during yesterday’s Sin City gathering.
At CinemaCon, all four actors appeared on stage, quoting lines from “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” before reviving the band’s spirit with a harmonized bow. Also during the event, Mendes claimed that the CEO of Sony Pictures, Tom Rothman, referred to the project as “the first binge-able theatrical experience.”
