Oregon Country Fair’s All-Star Celebration of Bobby Weir to Feature Steve Kimock, Jay Lane, and More
For Oregonians, or folks with a yearning for bathing under a canopy of branches and soaking in songs and the sensation of a multi-generational gathering in the woods, Oregon Country Fair has always offered said respite. And, with deep association with the Grateful Dead, it makes sense that the 2026 gathering, slated for July 10-12, would hold space for the group’s late, great rhythm guitarist, Bobby Weir. Ahead of the event, the participating artists in the All-Star Celebration of Weir have been named.
According to the Oregon Country Fair’s latest dispatch, musicians taking part and playing tribute include Steve Kimock, Jay Lane, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Jason Crosby, Peter Sears, Dave Ellis and Kanika Moore. The group of Dead-associated players has signed on for two sets on the festival’s main stage during the program’s closing day, Sunday, July 12, 2026.
In a statement shared by the folks behind OCF, they outlined the performance: “The Grateful Dead has a special home at Oregon Country Fair. Thanks to an amazing concert and their generosity, the Fair was able to purchase the land where we gather annually to celebrate. The passing of Bob Weir in January meant a considerable loss to our musical legacy. To honor him, we are bringing together his friends for a special celebration with two full sets of music.”
The Oregon Country Fair originated in 1969 as a fundraising initiative for the Children’s House school, featuring live musical entertainment and crafts. Originally dubbed the Oregon Renaissance Faire, it adopted its current moniker in 1977 and, in 1981, purchased its current residence, land procured with support from a Grateful Dead benefit concert.
The Dead’s history at the Fair [at the time ORF] began in 1972 with the “Sunshine Daydream” concert benefiting the Springfield Creamery. Ten years later, they put on their second “Field Trip,” debuting “Keep Your Day Job” and “West L.A. Fadeaway,” and further cementing their roots in the state and with the event in particular.
Beyond the Bobby tribute, the event kicks off on Friday, July 10, with The Rumble with Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr. and Sierra Hull, in addition to Dana and Alden. Saturday, July 11’s lineup is billed to feature the Polyrhythmics with Adryon De León, ahead of the event’s final chapter, Sunday, July 12’s offering of acoustic favorites, Sam Grisman Project, Bandits on the Run, Ohma, and the aforementioned All-Star Celebration of Weir.
In addition to the names and bands taking the Main Stage, the Oregon Country Fair has also shared a glimpse at other entertainers like Glitterfox, High Step Society, Family Mystic, Moonbear, The Medicinal Weeds, Johnny Franco, Future Joy, Llorona, Sugar Push, and many others. Beyond songs, the occasion also includes a robust lineup of spoken-word practitioners, workshops, and circus-related recreations.
Tickets for the 2026 event are on sale and available here.
