Wilco Announce Inaugural Destination Concert Vacation in Morocco
Wilco is going transcontinental. Rather than retracing its steps and marching through familiar international terrain, the band is expanding its global horizons by announcing its first-ever visit to Africa, for Wilco (In Morocco). From March 25-27, 2027, the ensemble led by master lyricist Jeff Tweedy will embark on a musical excursion in partnership with Peter Shapiro’s Dayglo Presents and Pilgrimage of Sound to Marrakech, Morocco, offering a taste of the culture that complements the group’s trio of headlining performances and its no-repeat promise.
The impending opportunity for music and cultural immersion follows Wilco’s previous Icelandic concert vacation in 2023. It draws on the concept of bringing a fan base into a new environment and administering a no-repeat sting over three consecutive nights under the Marrakech moon.
The projected event invites guests to stay for four to five nights in luxury accommodations and includes round-trip airfare to and from Marrakech Menara (RAK). Daily shuttles will take attendees to and from the venue, ensuring music is at the heart of the experience. Beyond the hotel grounds, folks are welcome to explore the surroundings, working with a guide and experiencing everything from sunrise hot-air balloon rides to a trek through the Medina or a hike through the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.
According to the press release, “Multi-Day tours are offered pre and post-show, ranging from 3 days to 16 days to truly experience everything Morocco has to offer.” The indie rock band is partnering with Peter Shapiro’s Dayglo Presents and Pilgrimage of Sound for a getaway in Marrakech, Morocco.
