Gregory McLoughlin and Julia Kirk have shared a new single titled “Wasting Time.” The song is McLoughlin’s 10th single as a solo artist, whose history as a songwriter includes working with Beeman & Bannon, BuzzUniverse, Ross Sandler, Anthony Tamburro, Abbe Rivers and more.

“Wasting Time” features instrumentals performed by McLoughlin’s standard lineup of musicians: David Ribyat (guitar, piano) and John Rocessano (drums), who are joined by BuzzUniverse’s Brian Ciufo (baritone saxophone). The ensemble’s frontman carries the rhythm on bass and adds backing vocals, while Kirk illustriously coos the single’s opening lines: “All I really need’s someone to care for me/ Hold my hand, walk across the square with me.”

Kirk has made a name for herself by performing at coffee houses across New Jersey and drawing listeners in with a tone that can be compared to Madeleine Peyroux’s jazzy undertones and feminine edge on 2004’s “Don’t Wait Too Long.”

Recently, Kirk was featured on WFUV’s New York Slice series, which celebrates local musicians from the tri-state area. The single is currently streaming on Spotify, Apple Music and more.
