Over the weekend, Goose worked through three performances scattered across the country to close out their fall tour. On the end of an unforgettable year that has included their inaugural destination festival, their Madison Square Garden debut and not one but two celebrated studio albums, the indie-jam quartet’s last live series of 2025 was a proper victory lap, featuring expert versions of staple songs and a few surprises.

On Friday, Oct. 3, Goose took the stage in Richmond, Va. for their second night at Allianz Amphitheatre. In the aftermath of a Thursday show that included their debut spin on Ween’s Quebec classic “Chocolate Town,” expectations were high for the follow-up, and the band signaled that the best was yet to come be opening with their 11th all-time cover of Prince’s “I Would Die 4 U.” This strong start sent the quartet racing into the Chain Yer Dragon standouts “Royal” and “Hot Love & The Lazy Poet,” the latter of which merged into “Flodown.” The band’s tried and true medley of Great Blue’s “Yeti” and Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” brought the energy to a fever pitch, setting the stage for their first treatment of Arcade Fire’s 2004 hit “Wake Up” since June 2022. “Arcadia” provided one last blast before the set break.

Goose’s second set focused on more expansive takes of fewer cuts, beginning with a grooving 12-minute “So Ready.” The jam centerpiece of the evening took the form of a perfectly segued sprint through “Borne,” “Hungersite” and the second appearance of Kenny Loggins’ “Make the Move” in 2025, collectively stretching past the 36-minute mark. After taking a beat, the band ripped into a 20-minute “Dripfield,” among their longest yet, then finally wrapped up the performance with a high-flying encore of “726.”

On Saturday, Oct. 4, Goose touched down at Philadelphia’s famed Mann Center for the Performing Arts to deliver the final full two-set staging of their fall tour. To cap off an enthralling run, the quartet went back to the basics, serving up a 13-track affair with only one cover. Set one commenced with the Great Blue holdover “Pancakes,” followed by the two-part epic of “Seekers on the Ridge,” combining to 20 minutes of episodic, full-throttle jamming. “Dustin Hoffman” and “Rockdale” were swirled into one uninterrupted song before a moody and relatively concise set-closer of “Give It Time.”

Keeping true to jam tradition, Goose’s second set in the City of Brotherly Love doubled down on daring improvisatory passages, beginning with a 26-minute “Into The Myst.” Saturday’s rendition of the longstanding Moon Cabin favorite could have been a contender for the song’s longest version yet, had the band not veered off into a tongue-in-cheek but no less captivating cover of Dead or Alive’s synth bop “You Spin Me Round (Like A Record).” A mad dash through setlist staples “Madhuvan” and “Thatch” and the less common closer of “Elmeg the Wise” summoned all the band’s remaining energy, save for the last drops that supercharged an encore of “SALT.”

To cap off a long spell on the road, Goose arrived in Sin City on Sunday for a relatively tame single set staging at RISE Festival. Before a headline set from John Mayer, the band cycled through five tracks, offering up satisfying versions of “Silver Rising,’ “Hungersite,” “Creatures,” “Slow Ready” and “Dripfield.”

Goose will round out their year of touring with an appearance at Suwannee Hulaween on Nov. 11 and Goosemas 2025, presenting at Providence, R.I.’s Amica Mutual Pavilion on Dec. 12 and 13. Find tickets and more information at goosetheband.com/tour.
