Dirty Dozen Brass Band Celebrates Halloween with Widespread Panic

The members of Widespread Panic celebrated Halloween in New Orleans by taking the stage in costumes. John Bell appeared as Batman villain Two Face (aka district attorney Harvey Dent), Jimmy Herring appeared as a Scarecrow, JoJo Hermann was Jason Voorhees, Todd Nance dressed as a Chilean miner, Sunny Ortiz was an Oompa-Loompa and Dave Schools was decked out in a white tuxedo with matching hat. The group also celebrated the occasion with a variety of new cover songs, interpreting “You’re Gonna Miss Me” (Muddy Waters), “Lola” (The Kinks), “Strange Times” (Black Keys) and “Bring It On Home” (Sonny Boy Williamson/Led Zeppelin)." Panic also enlisted New Orleans’ own Dirty Dozen Brass Band for portions of the night, starting in the second set with “Swamp” (fitting because the stage was designed as swamp) and “Use Me.” DDBB later returned for the “Christmas Katie” > “Superstition” > “Fishwater” encore.
Widespread Panic now has no other confirmed dates until a two night stand at Denver’s Pepsi Center on December 30 and 31.
