On Sept. 16, The Mars Volta released their self-titled album, their first new material in 10 years. As a follow-up to the band’s latest drop, they embarked on a North American tour, which kicked off on Sept. 22 at Dallas’ The Factory in Deep Ellum. After trekking through a handful of Southern states, the band moved on to the East Coast before bouncing to the Pacific Coast, where they showed up in Los Angeles.

For their City of Angel's return, the band took the stage at the Hollywood Palladium beginning on Friday, Oct. 21, with nightly shows that followed on Saturday and Sunday. The three-part stand included numbers from across the band’s exquisite music catalog, as they sprinkled in tunes from their beloved discography.
