Video Premiere: Get A Glimpse of the New Neal Casal Photo Book with “Tomorrow’s Sky” Clip

Commemorating the life and work of the late Neal Casal, a number of his friends and colleagues have come together to create Tomorrow’s Sky: Photographs by Neal Casal, “a 240-page, hard cover, coffee table book that presents over 250 of his photos.”

Today, Relix is sharing a glimpse of the book in a new clip, set to Casal’s song of the same name, “Tomorrow’s Sky.”

After months of work, Ricki Blakesberg acted as the project’s curator, pulling content from Casal’s Instagram, Tumblr and photo album. The book’s producer is legendary rock photographer, Jay Blakesberg.

“Getting to spend time with Neal’s photography on this book project has really been a blessing for me,” explains Jay Blakesberg. “Neal and I first bonded over photography when we met in 2007, and we talked about his body of work beyond his ‘music images’ only a few times because he sort of kept it a secret—or at least didn’t ‘promote it.’ I discovered his Instagram not because he said, go there and look at my cool photography, but because we were friends…and man, was I blown away.  It is an honor to present this collection of images in a book format to his fans because I know they too will be blown away!”

To get a copy of Tomorrow’s Sky: Photographs by Neal Casal, you can donate to the Neal Casal Foundation’s Kickstarter campaign, which will run through Saturday, July 18 at 7 a.m. ET.

The Neal Casal Music Foundation hosts a web-stream benefit tonight, July 9, starting at 8pm ET. Presented by Tree of Forgiveness Nightclub, the event will feature performances by Kenny Roby, Leslie Mendelson, Dori Freeman, Zephaniah Ohora and Ross James, as well as conversations with Dave Schools, Jim Scott, Jon Graboff, Scott Walker and a premiere of a John Ginty Band video featuring Neal Casal.
