Watch Blue Öyster Cult and moe. Perform “Don’t Fear The Reaper” at The Jammys

The Third Annual Jammys, held in October of 2002 at New York City’s (now shuttered) Roseland Ballroom, was the setting for a variety of jam-scene collaborations. Trey Anastasio, Derek Trucks and Gregg Allman joined Gov’t Mule for a performance of “Soulshine.” (Watch a video of that performance here.) John Mayer made a surprise appearance and performed with Trucks and Robert Randolph.

Another interesting collaboration occurred as moe. finished up their set. As they faded out of “Rebubula,” original Blue Öyster Cult members Eric Bloom (vocals), Buck Dharma (guitar) and Allen Lanier (guitar, keyboads) took the stage. The group then segued into the Blue Öyster Cult classic “Don’t Fear The Reaper.”

Check out a video of that performance via the Relix YouTube channel below! Also, check out our other Jammys videos, such as Phil Lesh, Mike Gordon and Les Claypool performing “D’s Diner” and Lesh, John Mayer, Questlove and Buddy Guy performing “Hoochie Coochie Man.”
