On Friday, March 6, the Warren Haynes Band rolled into Port Chester, N.Y. for the penultimate stop on the second leg of the Winter of Warren Tour. Following Haynes’ stunning solo run and an electrifying march up the coast with the full band, the celebrated Southern rock touchbearer’s return to the historic Capitol Theatre brought another eclectic setlist of well-loved originals and a fistful of surprise covers.

The Warren Haynes Band launched their stand at The Cap with the frontman’s solo originals “Man In Motion,” “This Life as We Know It” and “Spots of Time,” then dove into the Gov’t Mule catalog for “Banks of the Deep End.” After other curveballs, like Allen Toussaint’s “From a Whisper to a Scream” and an instrumental rendition of the Allman Brothers Band’s “Instrumental Illness,” Haynes and his backing quartet of Terence Higgins, Kevin Scott, Matt Slocum and Greg Osby veered off into a string of three covers, all of which hadn’t been staged yet in 2026: Robert Johnson’s “It’s My Own Fault,” Tower of Power’s “What Is Hip?” (which Warren supported in a sit-in with Lettuce at Suwannee Amp Jam 2) and Van Morrison’s “I’ve Been Working.” The second set brought another 2026 debut with Haynes’ own “Real, Real Love,” then another rolled in with the show-closing cover of U2’s “Achtung Baby” essential “One.”

Warren Haynes will return to the stage on April 30 for a special performance with the Louisiana Philharmonic at New Orleans’ Orpheum Theater. Find tickets and more information at warrenhaynes.net. Get an inside look at Saturday’s show in the gallery below, courtesy of photographer Dino Perrucci.
