Warren Haynes Christmas Jam Weekend (A Gallery)

This past weekend, Warren Haynes hosted his annual Christmas Jam weekend in Asheville, NC, and the 30th installment of the star-studded gathering once again featured an array of collaborations over two nights at U.S. Cellular Center, plus the annual Pre-Jam at The Orange Peel. This year, some unexpected winter weather caused Haynes to extend the celebration even further in the form of an impromptu performance back at The Orange Peel featuring even more collaboration.

For the Pre-Jam, Haynes hosted Marco Benevento, Tyler Ramsey Band, Ron Holloway Band and his own Warren Haynes & Friends set featuring Holloway, Haynes’ Gov’t Mule bandmate Danny Louis, Jeff Sipe, Jimmy Vivino and more. Night one of the Jam included a “Dark Side of the Mule” Pink Floyd set from Gov’t Mule, plus Mike Gordon, more Benevento, Grace Potter, a one-off group led by My Morning Jacket drummer Patrick Hallahan and former Black Crowes guitarist Audley Freed, and more, followed by night two, which offered more Mule and Haynes collaborations, plus Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Joe Bonamassa, and more. Finally, the surprise pop-up show on Sunday night brought back Haynes and Grohl, with a rotating band of members of Mule, Holloway, Vivino, Freed and more.

Dino Perrucci shared a selection of photos from the collaborative four-night Jam in Asheville.
