Video Premiere: Old Salt Union “Big Dreams, Small Talk”

Old Salt Union will release their second album with Compass Records on August 16. Compass co-founder and heralded banjo player Alison Brown produced Where The Dogs Don’t Bite, following up her work on the group’s previous self-titled effort. Old Salt Union performs string band music that draws on an eclectic range of interests, vesting the material with vitality and zest. Today we premiere the official video for “Big Dreams, Small Talk” from the forthcoming record, which is now available for pre-order.

Lead vocalist/bassist Jesse Farrar, tells Relix that the song “is the Old Salt dreamers anthem. Visualizing a grandiose future but stuck in the day-to-day ‘hey, how’s the weather’ chatter. Written almost in spite of most of our previous work – we decided to make the choruses softer and more mellow than the verses. It was a nice juxtaposition to how we usually approach composing material.”
