The Silver Lake Chorus first gained national acclaim in 2015 with their self-titled debut which offered the choral group’s lively interpretations of songs by Justin Vernon, The Flaming Lips, Tegan and Sara, Ben Gibbard, Sia and others. This past fall they followed-up with new compositions written for them by Lucius and Van Dyke Park. The group recently worked with director Arden Grier, who created a video for the Lucius tune “Not Not.”

Alto vocalist Lijah Barasz reflects, “’Not Not’ features the women of The Silver Lake Chorus, so we wanted to give the video a distinctly feminine feel and focus on a non-traditional love story. Our director, Arden Grier, brought her unique vision to the song’s message, highlighting the way women move through the world often feeling scrutinized and not supported, and in the end emphasizing self-love and acceptance. That message really resonated with us.”
