Los Angeles-based rockers, The Americans released their acclaimed 11-song, sophomore studio album earlier this year. Stand True continues to earn plaudits for the group, which T Bone Burnett described as “genius twenty-first century musicians that are reinventing American heritage music for this century. And it sounds even better this century.”
The band, which features Patrick Ferris (vocals/guitar), Jake Faulkner (bassist) and Zac Sokolow (guitarist) recently entered Seahorse Sound Studio with director John Metcalf to record live takes of some material from the Stand True. Today we premiere the official video of “The Day I Let You Down” from the spirited Americana act.
Ferris tells Relix, “‘The Day I Let You Down’ is about the world you depart when you split things off with someone, and all the culture that you leave behind. Zac played around with that riff for a while before I finally put words to it.”
