It’s Officially Time to Worry About “Two Step”
While perusing YouTube on this lovely Tuesday, I stumbled across the video you’ll find below of Dave Matthews Band playing “Two Step” on November 20, 2010 in Charlottesville, VA, the final show of their fall tour that year before what everyone thought would be a hiatus (the band introduced their Caravan concept shortly thereafter). “Two Step” closed the main set that night and preceded an encore that ranks as one of the band’s best, as they closed the year in style.
Beginning in 2009, “Two Step” had been building into an uncontrollable monster. Drum and guitar solos from Carter Beauford and Tim Reynolds, an outro jam that built to a feverish peak that shook the stage’s foundation. DMB’s finest live staple was at its absolute peak. That continued all throughout the following summer tours in 2010, the Caravan run in 2011 as well as 2012, ’13 and ’14.
