Happy Birthday Scott Metzger: Revisit Performances with Phil Lesh, Mike Gordon and Many More
The great Scott Metzger turns 40 years old today, celebrating by doing what he’s done for so many years in so many different projects–playing guitar on stage somewhere in Brooklyn.
Tonight, it’ll be Joe Russo’s Almost Dead at the Brooklyn Bowl as Metzger and the band kick off their second three-night run of the week to wrap up a six-show fall residency. But over the years, we’ve encountered Metzger in a wide variety of acts and sounds, from the heavy instrumental Zeppelin tribute Bustle in Your Hedgerow, to a foray into the world of the Grateful Dead with Phil Lesh & Friends, Metzger has just about done it all.
Below, check out a number of videos from his past performances as a guest and in a variety of his original projects in honor of the end of his fourth decade of living.
