Celebrate Stevie Wonder’s Birthday With His 1974 Live Performance on ‘Musikladen’

Today, May 13th, 2021, marks the great Stevie Wonder’s 71st birthday. Born in 1950, the legendary artist has released some of the most beloved albums in music history, including Talking Book (1972), Innervisions (1973) and Songs in the Key of Life (1976) and has been a massive influence on artists of many genres.

In 1974, around the time of the release of Fulfillingness’ First Finale, Wonder and his band appeared on the West German music television program, Musikladen, which ran from 1972 through 1984. The set was packed with Stevie Wonder classics, including “Higher Ground,” “Don’t Your Worry ‘Bout A Thing,” “Living For The City” and “Superstition.” The band also began the set with an improvised jam.
