Alabama Shakes Set Studio Debut

Alabama Shakes—the soul-rock group who rocketed from unknown bars to marquee venues without an album last year—will release their full-length debut
Boys & Girls on April 10 via ATO. . Rough Trade will release Boys & Girls  internationally on April 9. After being discovered by Drive-By Truckers frontman Patterson Hood, Alabama Shakes toured with North Mississippi Allstars and quickly scored buzz from publications ranging from The New York Times to Relix/Jambands.com and Brooklyn Vegan.

Alabama Shakes have a big winter ahead: On February 7, the group will make their television debut on Conan. In addition, the Shakes will appear on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic on Tuesday, January 24, as well as World Cafe session on NPR on January 26. Jack White’s Third Man Records has also selected Alabama Shakes to kick off its series of live 45 releases. The two-song 7” from the band’s fall 2011 session at Third Man in Nashville is due out in late January.
