Photo by Courtney Boyd MyersDr. Dog introduced the holiday season at Brooklyn Bowl as revelers danced underneath a shower of faux flakes all evening. The entire east wall featured screens of falling snow while a lucky few bowled the night away.

For those who haven’t had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Dog, they command a melodious sound reminiscent of the Beatles and the Beach Boys. The band members bowled before taking the stage and opened the sold-out gig with hits “My Old Ways” off We All Belong and “Today” from Easy Beat.

It was a different crowd than usual at the Williamsburg venue as girls in collared shirts and their indie boyfriends kicked-off the holidays with Philly’s musical elves. A piñata broke over the crowd and thousands of cigarettes came raining down on many happy New Yorkers – which quickly became a problem for a few not so happy bouncers.

The Philly boys wore wool caps, Santa hats and danced around on a stage adorned with Christmas lights, stuffed tiger heads, fake snow, feathers, flowers and tinsel. Dr. Dog was feeling playful when they pulled out “Rockin Around the Christmas Tree” as the encore followed by Charlie Brown’s "Christmas Time is Here
