Wes Anderson Concert Series at Hollywood Bowl to Feature Bill Murray, Mark Mothersbaugh, Jim James, Beck, Karen O and More

The LA Philharmonic has shared the final artist lineup for its upcoming concert series celebrating the music of Wes Anderson’s films. Set to stage at the Hollywood Bowl from July 10-12, the esteemed chamber orchestra will bolster their symphonic arrangements of the scores and soundtracks from Anderson’s films with a stacked guest list of 21 celebrated musicians and Bill Murray.

The LA Philharmonic will lead the event, developed with Anderson and his longtime music supervisor Randall Poster, with conductor Thomas Wilkins. Justin Meldal-Johnsen will blend the symphonic and indie strains of the series material alongside a house band of Roger Joseph Manning Jr., Gus Seyffert and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard’s Joey Wanoker. Anderson’s entire catalog will figure into the program, from 1996’s Bottle Rocket through 2025’s The Phonecian Scheme.

Beyond Murray, the LA Philharmonic will feature another of Anderson’s core collaborators with Mark Mothersbaugh, who scored Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Other icons set to perform include Beck, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O, Spoon’s Britt Daniel, Jackson Browne, Rufus Wainwright, Rogê and Jeff Goldblum, plus Karen Elson, China Forbes, Ami Dang, and Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Kaoru Watanabe on Yo-Yo Ma’s Silkroad Ensemble and Iryna Orlova leading the Ukrainian Mosaic Orchestra.
