The National and The War on Drugs Announce Zen Diagram Tour with Lucius
The National and The War on Drugs are teaming up for a fall North American tour, with support from Lucius. The announcement came today, Feb. 26 via an admat posted to the three bands’ social accounts. The Zen Diagram tour will see the trio journey from coast to coast, with stops in Canada and Mexico as well.
The Zen Diagram Tour will depart from the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee after a show at Gilford, N.H.’s BankNH Pavilion on Sept. 12. After a subsequent series at large-scale Northeast venues like New York’s Forest Hills Stadium and TD Pavilion in Philadelphia, the bands will head to Canada to play Place Bell in Laval, Québec on Sept. 19 and the Budweiser Stage in Toronto, Ontario on Sept. 20.
On Sept. 21, the Zen Diagram Tour will celebrate the Autumnal Equinox at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, before venturing west to play Chicago’s United Center on Sept. 24 among other Midwest staples through Sept. 26. Then, the groups will head to the mountains for shows in Greenwood Village, Colo. and Salt Lake City on Sept. 28 and 29. After crossing the northern border for a show at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, the tour will hit notable West Coast venues like the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Calif. to complete its Western leg. Finally, the National and The War on Drugs will play the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico on Oct. 10, their only show without an opening act from Lucius.
In 2023, the National released the dual albums First Two Pages of Frankenstein and Laugh Track. The band resumed its touring for First Two Pages of Frankenstein on February 24 in Auckland, New Zealand, and will proceed with a world tour through the summer. Meanwhile, The War on Drugs will play a series of festivals throughout the spring and summer, beginning with an appearance at My Morning Jacket’s One Big Holiday 2024, which runs from April 4-8 in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. Lucius have been playing venues honoring their 2014 album Wildewoman this winter, and will soon set out on tour with Dawes, with their first show scheduled for March 8 at the Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville, Va.
A general sale for the Zen Diagram Tour will open on Friday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Artist presales will be available on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 10:00 a.m. ET, and will close on Thursday, Feb. 29 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
