The Black Crowes took their Shake Your Money Maker tour to Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., on Aug. 29. The Monday night tour closer in The Centennial State brought forth a handful of rarities, including a bust out of “Lickin’,” which was last performed on Nov. 10, 2010, at Rams Head Live in Baltimore.

Whereas the band has been celebrating the anniversary of their 1990 album, Shake Your Money Maker, on tour, they frayed from the usual display which centers around their debut collection, with a pairing of “No Speak No Slave” and “Sting Me” off 1992’s The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion

Next, they returned to their Shake Your Money Maker repertoire with “Twice as Hard” before jumping to their 2004 catalog with the rarity “Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution,” which appeared on The Black Crowes’ fourth studio album, Warpaint. “Under a Mountain” arrived next and was another seldom played tune to grace last night’s setlist.

The Black Crowes moved through “Descending” for the first time this year. A cover of Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle” came before a bust out of “Lickin’.” The latter was last performed in 2010 and marked another memorable moment during last night’s show.  “Horsehead” and “She Talks to Angels” arrived before “Thorn in My Pride” and a take on The Undisturbed Truth’s “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone.”

The single-set performance continued with “Wiser Time” and “Jealous Again” before they concluded the block of music with “Remedy.” Finally, the Black Crowes covered The Rolling Stone’s Exile on Main Street number, “Rocks Off,” to conclude their night outside Denver.

Following the band’s length summer tour, they’ll go on hiatus until late September, when they trek across the pond for a European tour kick-off at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, on Sept. 21. To learn more about The Black Crowes’ forthcoming tour dates, visit their official website
