The Grammy Museum has added more performers to its third-annual Hall of Fame induction gala. Staging at Beverly Hills, Calif.’s Beverly Hilton on May 8, the 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala will honor the esteemed recordings of its 52nd class with performances from George Clinton, Heart, Lucinda Williams and Take 6; all but the latter have recordings entering the hall of fame this year.
The new additions to the event will join Norah Jones, who will receive the Recording Academy’s Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award. Jones’ recognition follows Jon Batiste’s selection as the award’s inaugural recipient at the 2025 Grammy Hall of Fame induction ceremony; Like the icon for whom the prize is named, Jones has earned esteem as a vocalist, pianist, songwriter and producer and champion of new generations of artists through her work across a vast spectrum of styles.
“I’m so honored to receive the Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award,” said Jones. “Ray Charles was my musical hero, and he changed the way so many of us hear and feel music. To be recognized in connection with his legacy, and as part of a night that also celebrates such important recorded works, is special for me.”
The 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala will enshrine a total of 14 recordings among the most impactful in the history of American music. The retrospective honor’s 52nd class includes nine albums and three singles, all over 25 years old, in keeping with the museum’s guidelines: Radiohead’s OK Computer, 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me, Lucinda Williams’ Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, Funkadelic’s Maggot Brain, Nick Drake’s Pink Moon, Alice Coltrane’s Journey in Satchidananda, Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814, Eric B. & Rakim’s Paid in Full, Heart’s Dreamboat Annie and more from Bertha “Chippie” Hill, Ella Jenkins, The Rouse Brothers, Selena, and The Soul Stirrers.
