After commencing their Beacon Theatre run on Tuesday with a three-track preview of their pending release, Future Soul. Last night’s show also dipped into the new album with a four-track pull that included two debuts. As a cherry on top, they also delivered Sturgill Simpson’s “All Around You” for the first time.
Night two of Tedeschi Trucks Band’s current run retraced familiar territory through the launch of “Don’t Let Me Slide,” ahead of the concert’s initial Future Soul feature, “Who Am I.” Unlike other tracklist features, this one initially debuted on May 14, 2025. Next, the 12-piece band brought life to a pair of I Am the Moon pieces, including the title track, before sparking up the title track off their forthcoming album.
For the band’s next move, they played through Derek and the Dominos’ “Keep on Growing,” followed by their own “Learn How to Love.” Next, the group delivered Simpson’s A Sailor’s Guide to Earth cut, “All Around You,” for the first time, before rolling through the Allman Brothers Band’s “Done Somebody Wrong.”
In time, they worked on Prince’s “1999,” and the Made Up Mind track “Do I Look Worried,” before resuming their Future Soul debuts on “Shout Out.” The ensemble also went with two covers from the Sly & the Family Stone catalog, pulling “You Can Make It If You Try” > “Everyday People.” The covers emerged just days out from the late musician, Sly Stone’s March 15 birthday. The remaining time provided a window for “Let Me Get By” before the show’s final Future Soul debut, “Be Kind.”
Tedeschi Trucks Band closed the show after putting effort into one final cover, a take on Joe Tex’s “Show Me.”
Following last night’s performance, Tedeschi Trucks Band will break for an evening away from the Big Apple stage and will ultimately resume their Beacon residency on Friday, March 13. The aforementioned concert is sold out. For more information, visit www.tedeschitrucksband.com/tour.
