Steve Winwood has announced a nine-stop solo tour slated to begin on Sept. 12 at Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Conn. The initial nights on tour coincide with Tedeschi Trucks Band’s Sept. 12 and 13 performances at the tented arena, both of which the lauded “Higher Love” singer will support before an influx of continued independent appearances.
Remaining in the Northeast, Winwood will take his solo show to The Cabot Theater in Beverly, Mass., on Sept. 15, prior to a follow-up on the historic Capitol Theatre stage in Port Chester, N.Y., on Sept. 17. The tour will pick up and move to Count Basie Center for The Arts in Red Bank, N.J., on Sept. 19, ahead of a jump down to Wolf Trap’s Filene Center in Vienna, Va., on Sept. 20.
Winwood will continue his long-overdue solo jaunt at F.M. Kirky Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes Barre, Pa. Notably, the last time the Traffic frontman embarked on an independent tour was in 2017, making the continued arrival of concerts all the more pertinent to fans of the English artist.
An ensuing series of New Jersey tour dates will take Winwood to the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, N.J., on Sept. 24, and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., on Sept. 26. The final live shows will take place on Sept. 27 at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, N.Y., and Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on Sept. 28.
Last summer, Winwood supported the Doobie Brothers on the road, serving as the band’s opening act and transporting listeners to the groovy ‘70s.
