On Jan. 14, 2025, Phish’s Mike Gordon surprised attendees at 600 Minutes with Rory Scovel, which took place at Union Hall in Brooklyn, N.Y. The bassist joined the comedian and supported the standup set by performing an hour of improvisational music.
The funny man’s current run consists of 10 improvisational standup sets at the Brooklyn venue performed over 10 nights and totaling 600 minutes of entertainment. Like the comic, Gordon also used the opportunity to ab-lib on stage.
Before last night’s team-up, Scovel was a guest during Phish’s 2024 Mondegreen Festival and appeared in the comedy tent during the Dover, Md., occasion. Gordon’s Union Hall improv appearances arrived the night before the bassist is set to appear at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl to celebrate Relix’s 50th anniversary alongside Taper’s Choice and friends. Tickets are sold out.
