Metallica Extend Sphere Residency

After unveiling their Life Burns Faster residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere last week, Metallica have confirmed a slate of six additional shows due to “unbelievable demand.” The new additions, set for Oct. 8, and 10, Nov. 5 and 7 and Jan. 28 and 30, will bring the legendary metal outfit’s total show count at the technically unparalleled venue to 14. The band initially teased the new additions without confirming dates and the second batch’s structuring by the same original No Repeat Weekend standard initiated on their M72 World Tour, comprising pairs of Thursday and Saturday stagings with no setlist overlap.

Metallica’s sold-through initial ticket drop, followed by a residency extension, fits the announcement mold used for some prior Sphere bookings. The four-decade metal mainstays will be the eleventh act to take the stage, after U2, Phish, Dead & Company, the Eagles, Anyma, Kenny Chesney, Backstreet Boys, Unity (featuring Chase & Status, Kaskade and Eli Brown), the Zac Brown Band and No Doubt.

Metallica’s new Sphere dates will open to a fan club pre-sale tomorrow, March 4, at 10 a.m. PT, with a general on-sale starting this Friday, March 6, at 10 a.m. PT. Find tickets and more information here.
