Tonight, Monday, Sept. 30, members of Lettuce, including Nigel Hall (vocals, Hammond B-3, Rhodes, clavinet, keyboards), Ryan Zoidis (alto, baritone, tenor sax, Korg X-911) and Eric “Benny” Bloom (trumpet, horns) will appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where they will assist Louis Cato and The Late Show Band with the program’s musical delivery. The show will air at 11:35 EST on CBS and will stream on Paramount+ and YouTube tomorrow.
The band members’ late-night appearance arrives after Lettuce took part in a weekend residency at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Sept. 29. During Lettuce’s Big Apple gigs, Tedeschi Trucks Band vocalist Alecia Chakour joined the funk masters while in town to perform alongside Derek and Susan at The Beacon and King’s Theatre.
After Lettuce’s time in New York, its members will take time from the stage away before resuming their schedule in mid-October for a pair of concerts with STS9 at the Radius in Chicago. They will appear at Suwannee Hulaween to close out the month. The band’s final 2024 dates take them to Seattle for three nights at Dimitrious’s Jazz Alley on Nov. 7-10.
