In two weeks, after a long strange run, Dead & Company’s Dead Forever Residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere will finally come to an end. With 30 shows on the books, this record-setting series at the technologically pioneering venue is some serious cause for celebration, and fortunately for the fans, the music won’t stop after the encore. After Dead and Co.’s final show on August 10, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas will host Melvin Seals & JGB for a premiere aftershow, honoring the Dead’s legacy and proving that its world-changing music endures through the close of the titanic Dead Forever series. 

Helmed by original Jerry Garcia Band keyboardist Seals, who the legendary Dead frontman named “The Master of the Universe,” the JGB have risen to prominence as one of the foremost torchbearer’s of the jam forefathers’ legacy, assuming the band’s inextinguishable spirit in treatments of its sprawling catalog. In nearly 30 years, Seals & JGB have kept the message resounding and garnered widespread acclaim from the festival circuit for keeping fresh energy in the music of Jerry Garcia, alongside treatments of the Dead and other iconic covers and standards in its inimitable jam form. The band’s revolving lineup currently features a sextet format, led by Seals and Dark Star Orchestra’s John Kadlecik.
