Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds Share Official Video for “Don’t Let Go,” Tonight’s Show Will Stream on nugs

3:12 PM EDT on September 15, 2026

Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds recently kicked off their Mutiny For The Masses tour. The shows have typically offered upwards of 26 songs, reaching nearly three hours in duration. The quintet has been drawing heavily from their latest album, Mutiny After Midnight as well as 2024’s Passage du Desir. In addition the group has sprinkled in additional Sturgill Simpson material, as well as select covers, included INXS’ “Never Tear Us Apart” which they performed for the first time on Saturday.

nugs is offering audio from all of the group's shows. In addition, nugs will livestream four gigs over the course of the tour. The first of these is tonight at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA, followed by September 23 at the Ball Arena in Denver, CO, October 2 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN and October 30 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY.

Meanwhile, the group has just released an official video for “Don’t Let Go” from the latest album. In a recent Relix interview with all five members of the band, Simpson tracked the origin of the record, stating,  We were on a European tour early last year on those double-decker kind of tight claustrophobic buses. We were on the bus with the crew, whereas in the States we're on our own bus. So at night we’d have these TV listening parties, and we just started watching all these old Live at Montreux videos. At some point we were like, ‘Let's just do that. It looks pretty fun.’ So when we went into the studio it had nothing to do with the music we’d just played on tour. It was us trying to capture songs based around serving these grooves as opposed to big, expansive instrumental features.”

The band’s upcoming tour dates appear below the video.
