Jackie Greene, Steve Kimock, Reed Mathis, Berry Oakley and Others Outline George Harrison Tribute Tour
Beginning on February 19, a collective of jam scene elites will come together to honor the music of George Harrison. Jackie Greene, Steve Kimock, Reed Mathis, Berry Oakley, Pete Lavezzoli, and Gil Assayas have signed on to celebrate the songs and musical stylings of the Beatles’ lead guitarist on an extensive East Coast and Midwest tour, starting at Song Hall in New York City.
After turning in night one, the group will take their affinity for the classics to The Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pa., before taking their talents to Patchogue, N.Y., and its namesake venue on February 21. The ensemble will take a couple of nights off the road before resuming their live dates on February 24 in Munhall, Pa. They will play in Rochester, N.Y., the next evening before routing to the Motor City.
In the Midwest, the group is scheduled to play in Des Plaines, Ill. (Feb. 27), St. Charles, Ill. (Feb. 28), Cincinnati (March 1), and Cleveland (March 4), before arriving in Buffalo, N.Y. (March 5). Back on the East Coast, the salute to Harrison will take place at even more locations, including Bethel, N.Y., before a trio of New England appearances.
After a night spent in Medford, Mass., the six-piece will play at the Newton Theatre in Newton, N.J., before continuing down the road to Jim Thorpe, Pa. The group’s final tour dates take place on March 14 at The Hamilton in Washington, D.C., and March 15 at The Music Hall in Tarrytown, N.Y.
In a post shared by Kimock, outlining the forthcoming run, the tour was described as “a one-of-a-kind tribute to the ‘quiet Beatle,’ honoring his timeless songs, spiritual vision, and lasting influence. From Beatles classics to solo gems like My Sweet Lord and All Things Must Pass, this immersive show will carry audiences on a powerful journey through Harrison’s legendary catalog.”
